i) Introduction
possibly probably perhaps (PPP) is an ongoing artistic experiment I founded and direct as a label and imprint. It issues artifacts and organizes local and online activities project by project. Wearing recurs as a subject of inquiry, and wearable design remain central to each project, for wearing, as an everyday mediation, renders our private bodily life socially readable. Each project places one specific inquiry inside the label’s operating cycle. As the inquiry moves through research, production, publishing, and circulation, it branches into related works that we call subprojects, each of which reframes the inquiry through the stage that produced it, making the methods and conventions of that stage part of what the work examines. Later subprojects can reopen and revise what came before.
Over the life of each project, I set its direction and collaborate with community-based artists, craftspeople, manufacturers, and participants outside professional art and design. Bag As..., PPP’s first project, for example, grew from my undergraduate thesis on self-fashioning and ultra-functionality. With Beatrice Mai, I co-produced WikiPPPedia, a deadpan Wikipedia parody that assembled anecdotes and histories of the bag into a working definition which later informed two hyper-specific, sportswear-coded bags: one fitted to a baguette, the other a wearable holster for a wine glass. After the bags were presented and circulated through art venues, photographs of their changing configurations became another subproject: a silk-made manual that could itself be worn. Research became product, use became image, and documentation returned to the body.
Since 2024, PPP has staged its public debut and completed two projects. My vision is for PPP to become a character of its own, defined by the way it reads cultural forms, reworks them in its own idiom, and sends them back into public circulation as artistic propositions. Because that character is carried along with PPP’s operations, no single image or video can fully convey the system. The iii) PPP, Spoken video introduces how PPP’s launched projects and subprojects are materialized as a coherent practice. The linked PPP home site at the section ii), designed and built by me, adopts and unsettles e-commerce conventions to archive PPP’s work. Together, hopefully they offer a sense of how PPP operates and what it feels like.

Project 1, Bag As...
2024
On Self-fashioning and Ultra-functionality.
Bag is an entity of space that holds physical objects. PPP Project 1 introduces a series of soft containers, designed for specific scenarios. Their shapes will be the prompts. Their methods of use and wear should be developed by their owners.

In this tiny mismatch of wearing, the delayed circumstance appears, where things feel a bit off.
To depict this offness, we brought mannequins onto the set, went on streets to put up our images in the most unexpected corners. We’ve collected small moments of beautiful absurdity since summer, and this is part of them.
wish you were everywhere (L.A. bus shelter series). 2025.
As an extension of the Delayed Circumstance campaign, we placed the posters—unofficially—on bus shelters across Los Angeles. The unauthorized placement is a dry layer of humor. The posters were simply waiting there, pretending to belong, humming “wish you were everywhere.”

PPP debut
2024
Since PPP is quite an uncategorizable label about the action of wearing, they decided to debut in a way that the action of wearing is used for communication. 30 of PPP friends were wearing folded giant posters that contain images PPP meticulously selected, walking on streets in Brooklyn, Shanghai, Tokyo, Los Angeles, and many other places. The bodies function as billboards; the posters function as clothes; PPP is the message.

Designed and built by Kristopher Yizhen Shi. PPP’s home site unsettles conventional e-commerce through an interface nearly identical to Instagram. Product releases and documentation occupy the same feed, where archiving becomes part of each project’s public circulation.

Project 1 packaging system. Photography by Beatrice Mai. 2025.
Pieced together from fabric offcuts left over by its manufacturers, project 1 packaging system allows customers to refashion the cloth into a bag of their use or simply reuse the packaging as a formal bag, echoing the idea self-fashioning.
