i) Introduction
Every Light Has Its Breath is a large-scale kinetic lighting sculpture that imagines a lamp capable of breathing. The work consists of an illuminated, pyramid-shaped body surrounded by four articulated wings covered in translucent paper. Driven by an Arduino-controlled motor-and-pulley system, the wings fold and unfold in a programmed sequence, mimicking the bodily gesture of curling inward and releasing. Through this mechanical movement, an otherwise static lighting fixture takes on a suggestion of organic life.ii) Installation View
