Every Light Has Its Breath
Technical Notes
The sculpture comprises a laser-cut wooden structure and four articulated wings, each assembled with piano hinges secured by bolts and nuts and wrapped in tracing paper. Four NEMA 17 stepper motors, connected through motor drivers to an Arduino microcontroller, were developed alongside custom 3D-printed pulleys to produce the wings’ curling motion. The illuminated central body and an upper, finger-jointed wooden enclosure accommodate the lighting and control components.
